About Lukas
The unplanned expatriate blogger behind FrostStoneTerra

Hi there, I am Lukas
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Zürich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in the original plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it began as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, heightened expectations. Daily tasks seemed more challenging than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and a lot of learning on the job. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built FrostStoneTerra
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site IS:
- Practical know-how from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated when a real change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- A resource from a tourism authority
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Switzerland goes on, as does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Zürich or anywhere in Switzerland, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Lukas
